GANJA BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

Recipe from Ashley Boudreaux

Celebrate another year of loving life by starting a new birthday tradition starring this delicious psychoactive frosting—and for a major milestone, double down on the ganja by slathering it on top of a pot-infused cake. Just make sure you invite plenty of friends to share the good times, or better yet, whip up a batch for your best bud’s next birthday to show you really care. The lazy and/or decadent will be perfectly satisfied spooning it up straight, but it’s really best with chocolate, vanilla, or lemon cakes. And when you blow out the candles, don’t forget to wish for more weed!

MAKES ENOUGH FROSTING TO COVER TWO 9-INCH ROUND CAKES

½ cup unsalted Simple Cannabutter (see recipe)

1 pound confectioners’ sugar (roughly 3 cups)

4 to 5 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Bring the cannabutter to room temperature until it is solid but not hard. Once it has reached the right consistency, slowly blend it in a large bowl with the confectioners’ sugar, 4 tablespoons cream, and vanilla. Using an electric mixer is easiest, but the blending can be done by hand. Beat until smooth, adding more cream until the frosting seems easy to spread. This frosting is versatile and can be used on any type of cooled cake, from chocolate to angel food.

Note: If you don’t have any cannabutter on hand, you can make it while your cake is baking.
