Makes 8 servings
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
2-1/2 c. apples, peeled, cored and diced
2 T. boiling water
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
Garnish: whipped topping
In a bowl, blend together butter, egg and sugar. Add flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda, mixing well. Toss together apples, water and walnuts in a separate bowl; stir into flour mixture. Pour into a greased 9" pie plate; bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with whipped topping.
