Pecan Pie Bars

Makes 1-1/2 to 2 dozen

1-1/4 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 c. plus 3 T. brown sugar, packed

1/2 c. plus 2 T. margarine, divided

2 eggs, beaten

1/2 c. corn syrup

1 t. vanilla extract

1/2 c. chopped pecans

In a bowl, combine flour and 3 tablespoons brown sugar; cut in 1/2 cup margarine until coarse crumbs form. Press into an ungreased 11"x7" pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. While crust is baking, melt remaining margarine. Combine eggs, remaining brown sugar, melted margarine, corn syrup and vanilla. Blend in pecans and pour mixture onto crust. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
