Buttery Maple-Walnut Drops

Makes 4 dozen

2-1/4 c. all-purpose flour

1 t. baking soda

1 t. salt

1 c. butter, softened

3/4 c. sugar

3/4 c. brown sugar, packed

1-1/2 t. maple flavoring

2 eggs

1-1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Whisk together flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl; set aside. In another bowl, beat butter, sugars and maple flavoring until creamy; beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture and stir in walnuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, placing about 1-1/2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes, until golden.

Such a fun treat! Fill flat-bottomed ice cream cones half full of cake batter, place on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. When cooled, top with scoops of ice cream.
