Chapter Seven

The skies turned blue-green over a raging sea of blue. A small boat continued to rock as the paddles laid on the sides. The stars sparkled in the sky. Skipper woke up in the boat and glanced up at the sky. He looked around and saw Aquarian in the boat with him.

Skipper sighed and moved back into the boat, “Aquarian?”

Aquarian nodded and looked up at the moving sky, “I knew you, I would see you again.”

“What you do want?” Skipper motioned.

“I noticed that you almost had an episode in front of your friend,” Aquarian chuckled then grew serious. “You need to control your powers, Skipper. The time has come for you where you need to control your powers and establish yourself in full understanding.”

“I said last time, I want to be a normal kid,” Skipper scowled.

“No matter how you look at it, Skipper, your fate is attached to everyone else,” Aquarian argued. “This isn’t a game. Your destiny is attached to so many lives. Your decision effects everyone else as well.”

Skipper turned to look over to see his reflection in the boat. “You say I have a choice, but I don’t really. I just want to be normal, Aquarian. I don’t know any other life but this one. I want to be normal, yet I can never do that. My powers under control.”

Aquarian chuckled. “Life only matters. You will choose what is right in time. I know I may seem hard but the thing is I care for this galaxy and want to see it thrive. I don’t want the other guardian to win favor over me. The belief and faith in people is what is important as to the life quality of this galaxy.”

“I am a servant to other creatures beyond humanity but I must take care of them as well. I need to make sure you understand that everyone must play their part. We must go beyond the invisible.” Aquarian smiled then glanced at Skipper.

“Aquarian, I don’t know if I’m this person you believe in,” Skipper mentioned as he looked at him.

“I knew a girl once where she was a powerful seer, she didn’t believe too but the danger was real. She is very powerful. She didn’t know what path to take, but she realized things were bigger than her. That girl didn’t choose to become a hero. Circumstances led her to choose her path, yet she knew what was at stake. She was a woman to understand the truth of life, because she believed.” Aquarian snickered.

“The waves of the world are determined by thoughts and examples.” Aquarian said lightly then faded away.

Skipper looked at where Aquarian was and looked down at his hands glowing blue-green. He was scared to take the leap for it would mean he would recognize himself as more than human.

Within the Light Group, many sectors were piecing off like small gems. So many were becoming rogue or defining themselves into stronger encampments, yet another force was taking back control over the Light Group Corporation. Coen walked down the white halls and knew that there were other powerful species within the settlement. Human and other creatures were fragmented, but the division of the Light Group was becoming unsettling, yet one faction was taking strides. Coen nodded to the others as he walked down.

To leave the group was imminent only through death. Once you entered, it was a sealed pact for life. Coen turned down corner and realized that he would need to gather what was of his species to make sure that they had inherited. As he entered in one room, the room was dark and the glimmer of lizard slit eyes flashed in the large room. Coen grinned for many others saw the planet for what they wanted.

“We shall have the Circle Group,” he remarked and a hissing sound erupted.

Dozens of others flicked their tongues in unison. Coen grinned for they had the numbers and their bond with others like them would come together. Coen would rule earth with the help of Pisces creating their own world and utopia over the selfish species they wanted to have dominion over.

A deep dark cloud emerged over the small sphere of earth. Aquarian continued to glance at it then scowled. He paced about seeing that Pisces influence was inhabiting on the earth itself. He was worried as to if there was no balance soon, Aquarian would have a troubling time over his new age. He needed to gain control soon or he would lose something grander. The stars shined brightly in the distance. He glanced around and felt a presence in the shadows.

“Whoever is there, come on out?” Aquarian shrieked out.

Out of the shadows, Pisces stood smirking, “are you having trouble controlling your age?”

“Did you come here to taunt me?” Aquarian argued.

“I came here to see the progression of Aquarian age fall. The only way it will fall is by the choices that human makes. He will be the end and my champion will arise. I want to see humanity buried and given into a set of death.” Pisces reacted.

“Why would you do that to your own followers?” Aquarian growled.

“They see me in so many different ways. Humans are fickle creatures. They are so needy and demand attention like a newborn. One must realize that life isn’t always like that but humanity is like that. I am many names to them but to control them is what I do best. The acting guardian before me didn’t do too much and allowed them to do much.” Pisces proclaimed.

“Influence is always key and how to approach any situation. Belief is a life blood but control is everlasting. Take what you want. They are a backwater race but there is much more to do to them.” Pisces continued.

“Did you go down during the guardian before you to influence them?” Aquarian gasped.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about Aquarian, but the war has begun,” Pisces said coyly.

“My side will win. Once you die there will be another born in your place. You will pay for your crimes,” Aquarian demanded.

“There is no evidence. Even in death the guardian can’t be erased and I will stay alive. You all shall be added to the united era of mine,” Pisces said disappearing into the shadows.

“I have my eyes and spirits looking out for ways to get at you,” Aquarian yelled out.

Aquarian turned around and frowned for time was slipping and the need to battle Pisces would be near. Aquarian knew he wasn’t strong enough to overtake Pisces. He needed help. Aquarian glanced down at the sphere of earth and felt the chains of life becoming less and less around him.

“The truth must be found out,” Aquarian whispered.

Tommen saw Jenny sauntered to the corner. His eyes glazed a little watching her then ran up to her.

“Hey Jenny,” he waved to her as he stopped net to her.

She turned to him and smiled, “hey Tommen.”

“Everyone is saying that you’re going to the dance with Skipper,” he asked her.

“I am, why?” She stopped and turned to him curiously, “everyone has been asking me that. Is there a problem?”

Tommen scratched his head. “No. Not really. Everyone just thinks that it’s strange for a girl like you to be going out with him is all. I didn’t think you were that kind of person.”

“I don’t follow or believe in gossip, Tommen. I like Skipper and I can go to the dance with him or anyone I like,” she huffed.

He exhaled deeply, “I know that Jenny but Skipper is weird.”

“Skipper is a living breathing male, not crazy and just fine to me,” she arched an eyebrow then frowned at him. “I’m leaving.”

“Strange things have happened around him recently. I remember what he did years ago but that was one incident. I don’t trust Skipper and I think there is something much more going on around him than what people are saying. Skipper is strange.” Tommen tried to reason with her.

Jenny glared and strolled away from him, “thank you, Tommen.”

Tommen stood there confused as he couldn’t figure out why Jenny was so interested in Skipper. Tommen was never one for without logic but nor could he understand teenage girls clearly. He sighed then marched off upset.

A helicopter flew over the town, Showman put on dark shaded sunglasses. He peeked down at the town to look for readings of peculiar energy. Fragments of different colors moved in the sunglasses. He sighed taking one hand to tap onto a button then have more readings came up. Showman pulled out tablet from his bag and turned to tap onto the buttons. The screen pulled up and two scanners attached to the helicopter began to track for the energies.

Different readings of colors emerged on the screen. He frowned looked at the regular ones. The pilot peered at what Showman then turned his head as he sighed. The pilot knew the man was strange in his request. He continued to mind his own business but then he saw children’s faces on the screen. The pilot turned around and flew the helicopter in the lined direction.

Showman’s phone rang and he picked up to hear Karly, “are you almost close?”

“I got into town and been searching for the reading levels but couldn’t. The readings did show something on the scale earlier but it’s not enough. I’m going airborne to scout the area.” Showman stated.

“Showman, my time is gone. I will have to leave it in your hands,” she said bitterly.

“Who is now in charge?” he questioned.

“Nostromo. He will be your superior and no one else knows about this but him. I trust Nostromo. He will find you and the two of you will take care of this looping edge. If this turns out to the child of the prophesy, my death won’t be in vain.” Karly laughed.

He took off his sunglasses and frowned, “Karly—"

“We will rule under Pisces, now and for forever. May, our lord thrives and the guardian of Aquarian age falter,” she said mildly then the phone clicked.

“Karly!” Showman yelled out.

As the phone clicked, Karly looked up to see men with quartz looking eyes staring back at her, “you’ve come to take me?”

Many men surround her then move to the side.

A man in a sharp white suit and emerald eyes, albino skin and a tall form studied her “Karly, the mission on your behalf has expired.”

“Dash Rerun. I didn’t expect to see you come collect me,” Karly sniggered bitterly.

“Karly, you were never one to outdo or hide from the corporation. We know everything. I would say that it is time to understand your place,” Dash spat out.

“Our truths will always be revealed, Dash. I served my lord well,” she glanced up at him and exhaled.

“The change will come and even Pisces will no longer hold the direct power. What is more powerful to a human than to have power over their master,” Dash chuckled then his eyes flared at her.

She gasped as looked into his eyes to see an alien soul. It wasn’t lizard but something else. The other men in white suits, cuffed and pulled her away.

“Dash?” she probed.

“We all have places to rank, and your time is gone,” he laughed.

“Dash, are you a ghost in a shell? Tell me?” she screamed as the men took her down the hallway.

Dash ignored her and stood in the long hallway glancing up at her, “the war has already begun.”

A white flame moved behind his eyes as he stared at the woman who was the last and not the first to know his secret. He chortled and strolled down the white hallway blending into the group itself.

Dash sauntered down the hallways and smirked for the Light Corporation was officially his. The balance of power after Pisces had left was moving into his hands. The realities of where he wanted to take the corporation would come full circle. He would see to it that his thoughts and ideals would be mandated. The company had faltered without Pisces. He looked down at his hands as the glowing light energy flowed through him. He knew that Pisces would have faltered out but he admired the previous guardian for his ambitions. Dash had secrets of his own and would one day be in the full effect.

As he walked down the hallways, Dash would rule over the forming groups. He would shine above them and gain more power over them all. His eyes blazed with white fire, for he was no ordinary alien underneath. His soul masked a white fire that was unyielding and unstrained, yet he was going to be with ambition alone above the one who had learned. He turned around feeling a presence.

“Allie have you come to tell me such news?” Dash’s lingered on her.

“Dash, we will soon be able to have the doorways to Saturn unlocked in a few months,” Allie mentioned.

Dash grinned then turned around to walk away, “this will be pleasing after the champion of Aquarian is found and another event is revealed.”

Allie nodded then disappeared into the whites of the walls. She knew Dash had something up his sleeve, for he nothing from their world, nor the galaxy. There was hidden motives and Allie was his second and wouldn’t want to cross him.

` The sun shined high in the sky as the winds swooshed around. The blue-green light evaporated around two figures. The light faded and there stood Skipper with his hands sparking energy. Raven chewed on some bubblegum and glanced over at him. He slumped to the floor, through scared continued to look at his hands.

“What happened?” he inquired.

Raven opened her hand a wave of orange and white energy formed into a ball then moved over to him. The light surrounded him and Skipper laid on the floor. He cringed as she cried out. The energy continued to surround him then fused into his body. Skipper stopped squirming them passed out.

Twenty minutes later, Skipper slowly opened his eyes as he looked around him noticing no windows or doors. He looked up to see Raven staring at him oddly.

“Your power is accelerating at an unusual rate. You need to train. Aquarian has been coming to you in your dreams,” Raven spit out her gum then strolled over him.

He moved to his hands and pushed himself up and stared up at her, “how do you know about Aquarian? I never told anyone about that.”

She stretched her hand out to him and looked into his eyes, “Aquarian told me about you.”

Skipper took her hand and pulled himself up, “what did you do to me?”

“I neutralized your power, Skipper. I had to suppress you power down because it is accelerating too high for you. You need to control it. Your power level could kill you,” Raven stepped back and looked at him.

He observed around him then glowered, “how can we get out of this room?”

She laughed, “this is a safe house.”

He studied her and noticed she was quite beautiful though he never took notice before, “Raven, why did you come to my school?”

She crossed her arms together and glanced at him, “I came because you need proper training and to protect you.”

“I don’t need protection.” Skipper roared, “I want to be a normal kid.”

She growled and pointed to him, “you aren’t a normal kid and neither am I. You will never truly fit in with them. We are beyond for what the gifts we have.”

“We are people too,” he screamed at her.

“We are but we are fighting for them. We fight the good fight for everyone. You can’t be selfish, Skipper. Your power level will get out of control. Don’t you understand that this is no longer about you.” Raven stated.

“You have to accept your destiny if you ever want to understand your life. Don’t you see? Your life is millions and billions that is submerged in this galaxy.” Raven exclaimed toward him.

Skipper turned his back on her, “I told Aquarian that I want to be a kid. I have a choice.”

“You have a choice, Skipper, that you do but we are at war. You need to pick a side. You are the center of this war and we need your help to fight it.” Raven strode over to him and pushed him. “You’re all we have. You’re existence and the life after for this world and other future lives is important, Skipper.”

“No matter what we do, we all have a path in the stars. Certain paths are set before we are even born. I came here to find you and train you.” Raven said with sadness.

Skipper stared at her sadly then pushed her back, “I can handle myself.”

“No, you can’t Skipper. Everyone’s life is important even Jenny, your parents and Zeke,” Raven motioned.

He fluttered his eyelashes then anger grew inside of him, “are you threatening them?”

Blue-green energy emitted all around him as it began to encase his body. “This is what I mean that you need help. I’m not trying to threaten you. I’m trying to make you see that you need to care more about the ones close to you. Your own power out there was uncontrollable. You could have killed Zeke.”

The energy began to quiet around him, “I could have?”

“Yes. If I had not come at the time, I did, Zeke could have died, Skipper. You should be lucky that I was there.” Raven walked passed him and sighed, “we all have a set path, Skipper. I want you to realize that life takes us in many forms.”

He glanced up to her and exhaled. Skipper felt in some parts she was right but it was unknown to him if he could accept the world she was referring to. He started to understand that gravity of the situation was grave. His power was increasing and needed to be maintained. He sat down on the floor Indian style and looked up to a dark pointed ceiling. His piercing gaze looked up at the ceiling and he could see where the galaxy began and ended. Skipper could see Jenny’s face among the stairs with his parents and Zeke. She was right about what it could do to them. He sighed openly noticing the blue-green energy around him. He was destined for something much more as to what Aquarian had told him. He wasn’t sure if he was what she said about being in the center of everything, but thinking back to what he almost did to Zeke terrified him.

“Raven, would you train me?” he peered back at her.

She was a taken back and smiled gently, “we should leave from here. I know a place where we can properly train.”

Skipper got up and glanced at her gloomily, “Raven, I don’t know about all of this. I’m scared. I don’t know how I can handle all of this ideally. I have powers, I can’t explain and I need to know how to control them.”

She strolled over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, “I know and I can help you, but we will need to leave.”

“Why?” he questioned.

“Because even for us as gifted people don’t want to hurt the people we love most,” Raven said dejectedly.

The energy melded around him “Raven—”

“We need to leave now, Skipper. We are at war and those other people will come look for us or rather you. Come with me. We are beyond the invisible. We see things that others don’t. We fight for a better future. We need to believe in the good for everyone. We are the ones chosen by Aquarian. Our destinies are intertwined.” She said looking up at the makeshift space in the ceiling with sadness in her expression.

“Raven, can you give me till the dance and I will try to go with you?” he begged.

She turned to him and patted his shoulder once more. “I guess one more last stop for normalcy? Sure. I can do that but you must come to me every day to help train you some basics before we leave.”

He nodded and she hugged him. Skipper’s eyes widen as she embraced him. This cold girl had emotions. He chuckled to himself and hugged her back.

“I don’t have many friends and I hope you can one of mine,” Raven smiled pulled back from squeezing her.

“We can be friends, Raven,” Skipper grinned at her.

She was eccentric to him but he felt a connection to her. He didn’t know but her presence soothed him. He never hated or disliked her, but thought of her strange. Raven had a tendency to always be there when he needed some comfort. She would be the one he turned to the most.

Zeke searched everywhere for Skipper but couldn’t find his friend. He had called his phone and disbelieved what happened in the park. Strange and unusual things were beginning to happen but Zeke really contemplated if Skipper was doing it again. He secretly wanted his friend to be normal but didn’t want to have to deal with the special part. He hid his own feelings about Skipper. He was his friend because he wanted Skipper to be ordinary. Not many of the students wanted to be his friend after that incident.

Zeke sighed as he looked up at the tree and held out his phone. He didn’t want to cause alarm to Skipper’s parents, but he had not seen him all day. Skipper had vanished and nowhere to be found. Zeke began to dial on the phone then stopped because he feared something would destroy their friendship if he let this thing slipped. Zeke didn’t want to be the cause of that, then he would have to corner Skipper about what happened. He needed to know if it was happening again.

“You have to face me some time, Skipper.” Zeke said quietly.

The sun shined brightly over the sky. Jenny marched with her friends then crossed the street. Skipper ran over to her and smirked. Her friends frowned as she turned to run toward him. They walked close together, chatting and talking. Skipper smiled as Jenny began to talk about their recent assignment. He wanted to forget the dreams he was having and live in the moment.

Jenny moved closer to him then took his hand into hers. He smiled and closed his fingers around hers. They continued to walk to school. Raven carried her books to the side, sneering at them both. He had to make a choice and Skipper was trying to react to everything around himself.

A red ball of energy emerged on the sphere as Aquarian glanced down at it. He glowered and noticed the red eyes turning into blue-brown. He took a step back and frowned.

“So, it has begun. The rivaling champion has been chosen,” Aquarian whispered.

Fate and Destiny held their golden scissors and walked by Aquarian, “the child of prophesy must have a balance. His choice will determine all of his but who shall he fight for? Earth or the people he loves?”

Fate and Destiny faded into the darkness. Aquarian grimaced, for all the fates and destinies were connected but they were this galaxy’s trusted visionaries of the ones themselves.

“I see,” Aquarian stood there looking at the waters fall off the edge pouring into the forgotten world whirlwind of the void.
