A loom is one of the tools you can use to keep the threads in order while you weave, but there are many ways to intertwine threads in addition to stretching them on a loom. You can weave around almost any shape, and here we have included projects using such objects as bottles and dowels as supports for our weaving. As you fashion each loop, stitch, or row, you also maintain your tension. And depending on the item being created, you can often use the same thread as both the warp and the weft. We’re fascinated to see how many different ways a fiber can be interlaced to make interesting patterns, textures, and fabrics. Enjoy the adventure!
