This book is written by the members of the Centre for Time Use Research (CTUR), the leading international specialist research institute in this field and originator of resources such as the American Heritage Time Use Study (AHTUS) and the Multinational Time Use Study (MTUS) – the latter harmonizing more than 90 national time-use studies from 25 countries, and including approximately 1 million days of time-diary data. It is predominantly based on data from the UK Time Use Survey of 2014–15. The UK historical data analyses and the cross-national analyses of Chapter 3 also utilize the MTUS.
