Part III
High School Math and Beyond: Math You Thought You’d Never Need Again
In this part . . .
If you’re fresh out of college with a degree in math or physics, you can probably skip this part, but chances are pretty good that the last time you cracked open a math book or tackled a word problem was back in high school. When that was over, you probably breathed a deep sigh of relief and said, “Thank goodness I’ll never have to do that again!” Well, I hate to break it to you, but you’re going to have to do that again.
The good news is that the chapters in this part quickly bring you up to speed on all the math you need for the GRE. In the following chapter, you brush up on basic math, including the order of operations, decimals, fractions, and percentages. In subsequent chapters, you review specific areas, including algebra and geometry, and sharpen your skills at solving word problems, reading tables and graphs, and answering Quantitative Comparison questions. Within each chapter are plenty of example problems to give you the hands-on experience you need to confront the GRE Math section with confidence.
