Part V
Taking Full-Length Practice GREs: It’s All You
In this part . . .
Now that you’ve brushed up on the basics and practiced your skills, the next step in preparing for the GRE is to take and review the practice tests.
This part has three complete practice exams carefully constructed to be as similar as possible to what you’ll encounter on the actual GRE. If you purchased the Premier edition of this book, the included CD has two additional exams that not only provide more practice but also simulate the computerized GRE test-taking experience.
Approach these practice tests as seriously as you would approach the actual GRE on test day. Take them under normal test conditions in a quiet room with a timer. Have blank scratch paper on hand to jot down notes and crunch numbers, and feel free to use a simple (not scientific) calculator — the computerized version of the GRE supplies you with an on-screen calculator.
After you’ve gone through these practice exams, be sure to read through the answers and explanations to strengthen any weak areas and reinforce your understanding of the reasoning behind the answers. Even if you picked the right answer choice for a given question, the explanation may provide additional shortcuts or insight.
