Taco Bake Casserole
Servings: 6
Ingredients
  • cooking spray (such as pam®)
  • 3/4 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 (1-ounce) package taco seasoning mixes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 (10-ounce) can refried beans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/2 (6-ounce) can sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1/2 (4-ounce) can diced green chiles
  • 7 1/2 taco shells, broken up, or more to taste
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
Step 1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
Step 2 Cook ground beef and onions in a skillet over medium heat until beef is browned, 7 to ten minutes; drain grease. Stir in water and taco seasoning; cook, stirring often until thickened, about 2 minutes. Add refried beans, salsa, olives, and green chiles. Cook and stir over low heat until ingredients are warmed through, three to four 4 minutes.
Step 3 Place half of the taco shells underneath the baking dish. Pour in two of the bottom beef mixture; sprinkle with half of the Cheddar cheese. Repeat with remaining taco shells, ground beef mixture, and Cheddar cheese.
Step 4 Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and bubbly, 20 to 25 minutes.
