SIX WEEKS LATER

image

“God, I can’t wait to see everyone,” I cry happily, bouncing in my seat. “I’ve missed Lei so much, and I can’t wait to see all of the guys. Hudson is going to lose it, being able to come here every single day.”

Enzo reaches across and squeezes my hand as he drives his truck down the long driveway to the ranch. We have been gone for six weeks, and in that time, we have just blossomed as a couple. I knew within the first week that Enzo and I had a permanent relationship that wasn’t going anywhere, anytime soon. Hudson took to him and accepted him in with open arms, and Ronnie absolutely loves him.

So, we made plans to move back here.

Enzo organized a house right near the ranch, so he can still come to work every day, and Ronnie found one in town, closer to the garage so he can take Hudson and work, without too much drama. We enrolled Hudson into school and gave everyone the good news that we would be returning. I’m so excited to live here, and Rhett told me I can work alongside Lei helping with the retreats. I couldn’t be happier to do that. I love the ranch and everyone in it.

Hudson is even more excited to be spending his time on the ranch, and Enzo even promised him his own horse.

Things couldn’t be better.

Rhett called us and told us the new group was arriving today. He wanted me to start work because he thinks this group is going to be a bit more difficult to handle, and they could use some females around just in case. As far as I know, they are women who have been released from prison, and they’re required to do this month long stay as part of their rehabilitation program. If they don’t do it, they have to spend the final few weeks working, so obviously, they picked this.

Apparently, they’re not dangerous and were only away for crimes that the courts deem ‘safe’ for them to be here, but they’re still being escorted by two guards to ensure they don’t cause any problems before their time is up. Technically, they’re still completing their sentence and until that has run up, they’re not allowed to just do as they please.

Lei has done up a different style of retreat for them, and she’s busting to go over it with me so we can work out the best course for their time here. I’m excited to get in and help and working with Lei is great. I’ve missed her, I’ve missed this place. I wish Faye, Alice and Chev could all be here, but they’ve already organized to come visit soon. We all still speak daily.

This retreat changed my life. I hope it’ll do the same for these women.

We pull up at the main house and I leap out of the car before Enzo has even come to a complete stop. I rush over to where Lei and Rhett are standing, and I throw my arms around her. We do a happy little dance before pulling apart. “I’m so glad you’re back, I can’t believe you’re going to be here all the time now. I can’t wait!”

I beam. “Me too, this is going to be so much fun.”

“The new group is minutes off. I’m excited to meet them.”

“Just remember, these women aren’t the same kind of women you’re used to,” Rhett tells Lei, putting an arm around her shoulders. “They’re likely a bit rougher.”

Lei scoffs. “I’m sure they are, but I’m not scared. June and I have got this. We’re going to make this the best retreat they could ever ask for.”

“Rhett is right,” Enzo murmurs, leaning down and brushing his lips across my ear. “They’re not the kind of women you’re used to.”

“God, you two are so cute!” Lei cries.

“We’ve got this,” I answer Enzo, after smiling at Lei. “We’re going to be fine. I’m sure they wouldn’t be allowed to come here if they were dangerous.”

“Maybe not,” he murmurs, “but that doesn’t mean they’re going to be easy.”

I shrug. “I like a challenge.”

He grins.

The sex we’ve had in the last six weeks has been out of this world intense. The man is a devil and oh, he has brought out the wild side in me. We’ve fucked in every place we possibly could, in every different position. We’ve gone wild, we’ve gone dominant, we’ve made love. It has been incredible and if it’s any indicator of our life together, I’m certain we’re in for a treat.

The sound of a bus has me spinning around, grinning from ear to ear. Lei jumps up and down, clapping her hands, and we watch as the bus comes to a stop outside the main house. The other guys all come outside, hearing the bus, and I quickly hug them all before we line up and wait.

The bus comes to a stop and the door opens. Two guards step out first. They’re quite good looking, with broad shoulders, uniforms that stick to their muscled bodies, and both have great faces. One has dark hair, tied at the base of his neck and a weeks’ worth of stubble on his chin. His blue eyes are stark, and his skin is a dark olive shade. The other guard has brown hair, cropped short, and his face is clean shaven and so chiseled he looks like he belongs on the cover of a book. His eyes are a deep brown, and oh, he’s something else entirely.

They both step down and then slowly, women start walking out of the bus. They range in age, one of them looking to be in her sixties, while one looks barely eighteen. There are only five of them, I guess to ensure they’re easily supervised. I take a moment to study them. There are only two older women, who look like they’ve lived a rough life but don’t look at all scary. They stand beside each other and are clearly close friends.

The other three are all younger.

The youngest, the one who looks barely adult, is tiny and petite with bright blue eyes and a short blond bob. She’s adorable and I have to wonder what the hell she did to get herself locked up. The girl standing next to her is maybe twenty, possibly a smidge older. She is curvy, has beautiful green eyes, long brown hair and looks sweet, too. Are they sure they got the right people here? What could these girls have done to end up in prison?

The final girl stands closer to the guards, she has her arms crossed and her expression is pissed. Like she would rather be anywhere else than here. She’s only small, her body petite and little. She is rocking some beautiful curves, though. Her hair is dark, maybe a deep chocolate brown, and is tied up on her head in a ponytail, yet the strands come down and around her shoulders, it’s that long. She has beautiful olive skin and when she looks up, her eyes are as yellow as a cat. The most incredible eyes I’ve ever seen, without a doubt.

She is gorgeous, utterly stunning.

“Damn,” Elias mutters beside me. “Fuckin’ about took me off my feet when she looked up.”

“She’s breathtaking,” Lei gasps. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so beautiful in my life.”

I have to agree.

There is something about her, a beauty that is utterly mesmerizing.

Rhett goes down and begins his introductory speech to the group. They all listen, the two older ladies occasionally smiling. I see they’ve both got tattoos and are the only ones out of the group who look like they might have been in prison. The rest of the group watch Rhett, their faces blank. Mostly the girl on the end, who still has her arms crossed, and now she’s looking down at her faded out converse, not making eye contact with anyone.

Rhett finishes up and then asks who wants to take charge of the group’s activities. The dark-haired guard steps forward and says something in Rhett’s ear. Rhett nods and then turns and calls Lei and I down. We both rush down quickly and stop beside him. “Ladies, the guards have expressed that all tasks need to go through them to be approved first. I’m going to put you two in charge of the activities and communications. We good?”

We both nod.

“Also,” the guard says, glancing at the beautiful girl, “we’ve had some trouble with that one. She’s fiery and doesn’t follow instruction well. If possible, can we have someone supervise her and her activities whenever we can’t be around?”

The girl looks up, clearly having overheard him.

Her eyes narrow. “I can hear you, Waylen.”

Her voice is soft, yet at the same time, hard as nails.

“We don’t want any trouble, Willa.”

Willa.

What a beautiful name.

“Then you shouldn’t have sent me on this ridiculous retreat.”

Waylen looks back at us. “As you can see, she’s not willing to follow instruction. Have you got someone who can help?”

Rhett turns and glances at the guys, then he barks Lake’s name.

Lake walks down the stairs, stopping next to him. “What’s up?”

“You’re in charge of making sure this one,” Rhett points his finger at Willa, “does as she’s told. She needs to be supervised.”

“You have got to be kidding me,” Willa snaps, her expression horrified. “You’re seriously making wannabe surfer dude here take care of me as if I’m some sort of out-of-control teenage girl?”

Lake crosses his arms, glaring at her. “Listen here, lady. I don’t appreciate your attitude and I certainly don’t have time for it. You better stand down.”

Willa jerks her head back, looking at him with complete horror. “I beg your pardon?”

Lake leans in close. “I didn’t stutter.”

“We’ve got this covered,” Rhett says, grabbing Lake’s arm and pulling him back. “You don’t have to worry.”

Waylen looks between the two of them, and then nods. “Good luck to you.”

Lake gives Rhett a glare so deep, I’m not certain I’ve ever seen such malice on his perfect face. Lake is fun loving, easy going and an absolute blast. I know why Rhett chose him, but I also know it’s probably not going to end well. Willa doesn’t look like she’s going to make it easy on him.

I let Rhett finish his introduction and walk back up to Enzo, who puts his arm around me and brings his lips to my ear. “This is going to be fun. That girl is a firecracker.”

“She’s something alright,” I laugh. “Poor Lake.”

“We’ve had nerdy girls, moms and now we’ve made the jump to crims. We’re really setting some kind of trend here.”

I laugh. “Camp Crim. It doesn’t get trendier than that.”

He grins. “Should be fun.”

Oh, I have no doubt.

No doubt at all.

These ladies are going to keep us on our toes.

And I can’t wait.
