Don’t be afraid of pinching and stitching the parts to add shape to the ear or tail as this will create expression and character, and remember to go easy on the hair loops as if you add too many your animal will become top heavy.
1. Bridget has the most universal tail type and instructions can be found in the Technicals section. Refer to this when making Georgina, Rufus, Angharad, Douglas, Alice, Audrey, Sarah and Caitlin.
2. Alexandre has a long tail worked as a hollow unstuffed tube in the same way as Juno’s, Laurence’s, Martin’s, Siegfried’s and Hamlet’s.
3. Emma has a unique stuffed bob tail.
4. Austin has a simple multiple strand chain tail.
5. Richard has a short curling tail, as does Claudia.
6. Winston has a long stuffed tail that should be sewn on curving upwards.
7. Noah’s short tail should be sewn on before working the fleece as with the other sheep Simon and Hank.
8. Chardonnay has a unique tail made from very long loops, but also note her mane as a reference for Timmy and Alice.
9. Timmy has a cute short stuffed tail curving upwards.
10. Esme has a touch of stuffing in her tail as does Christophe.
11. Boris has a flamboyant stuffed tail sewn into an upright position, the same as his cousin Bradlee.
12. Francis has a back covered in wonderfully textured spikes but no tail.
13. Jessie has a magnificent tail that is left unstuffed.
14. Seamus has a small tail that is pinched at the end and sewn pointing downwards. Use this as a reference for Piotr, Penelope and Fiona.
15. Clarence does not have a tail and shares this with Germaine, Benedict, Samuel and Blake (who needs a tail when you’ve got hair like that?).
