The city formerly known as Bombay is similar to Bangalore in some aspects. The cities share a high concentration of technical talent thanks to the India Institutes of Technology (IIT) system, but both have city infrastructures that leaves much to be desired. In contrast to Bangalore, however, Mumbai startups have a greater focus on products as opposed to IT services. The obsessions with Bollywood and mobile phones fuel opportunities in entertainment, games, and social media. Mumbai is also the finance and media capital of India, meaning there is a much more diverse talent pool.
