Precisely the Right Place

Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

ECCLESIASTES 11:6

Pastors Dimitri and Maria had been shepherding their small flock of believers in Thessaloniki, Greece for over twenty years. During that time they experienced numerous challenges and hardships, including the loss of their fourteen-year-old son, Peter, to cancer. They had many big dreams for their son, church, and nation, but everything looked hopeless.

You see, Greece is a very difficult mission field. It is a nation steeped in tradition and religion, and there is very little light shining in the midst of darkness. In the twenty years their church had been ministering in Greece, they had never been able to grow to a hundred members. In one way it seemed like the ground they were plowing was completely fallow and infertile, but in spite of this, they remained faithful and full of belief.

As it turns out, one day they would see that God had a much bigger purpose in store for them and their church. They were not only pastors, but lawyers, and for years could not work out why they had both a legal practice and were pastoring a church. They did not know that in the future God would require both of these facets of their lives to launch them into their destiny.

When we started The A21 Campaign in Greece we needed to assemble a legal team, and guess who we found to be in precisely the right place?

Literally overnight these pastors went from wandering on the backside of the desert to being on the front lines of the fight against human trafficking. If they had left their seemingly insignificant place, they would not have heard God calling them to the next place. He wanted to use them to help bring justice to a nation, and they are now a vital link in the chain of our campaign.

MOMENT OF REFLECTION

What past experiences have you had that seemed insignificant at the time but were later used by God for something important?
