“I need a fiancé and I need one now!”
This was worse than Justin had thought. “I’m sorry, but there’s no way Ross is leaving the hospital anytime soon.”
“Then what about you?” Hayley clutched his arm in a death grip.
“Me?” Justin was floored. “I’m not an actor!”
“You don’t have to act. You have to be
Sloane Devereaux, my fiancé.” Suddenly noticing her painful grip on his arm, she released him and took a step back. ”Listen, my mother and sisters are over by the fountain. They’re expecting to meet my fiance and go to the wedding rehearsal. The limousine is waiting. Please.”
Justin knew desperation when he saw it. “I’ve never done anything like this before.” He exhaled. “What do I do?”
Hayley glanced toward the fountain. Her family, tired of waiting for an introduction, had decided to greet their prospective in-law themselves. Panicked, Hayley turned to Justin. “Quick!” She flung her arms around his neck. “Kiss me.”
