Lorrie Moore

Lorrie Moore is the author of the story collections Self-Help, Like Life, Birds of America, Bark, and the novels Who Will Run the Frog Hospital?, Anagrams, and A Gate at the Stairs. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Best American Short Stories, and Prize Stories: The O. Henry Awards. After serving as the Delmore Schwartz Professor in the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin–Madison for almost three decades, Moore was named the Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor of English at Vanderbilt University. She has received numerous grants and awards, including the Lannan Foundation, the National Books Critics Circle, and the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin, and Nashville, Tennessee.
