Street Traders

Hey, haywire, shout

On the streets of Lagos

Traders scattering

Reeling to and fro

Despair on their faces

Beaten blue and black

Traders on the streets of Lagos

Hanging this dragging that

Their mind overweighing their luggage

Flattened by the trials of the moment

Petty people the petty traders

The barking order of the enforcer

Government agent of change

Casting down and dislodging

Confisticating wares of the people

jostling , pushing and jerking;

these people the petty traders

the wailers of time and hope
