I haven’t changed since I was fourteen. I knew everything then that I know now. I don’t mean the stuff you learn in school or on a job, I mean the truth of this life, the no-bullshit truth. But maybe it’s like that for everybody. Maybe we all realize the truth at fourteen and spend the rest of our lives finding ways to forget it or struggling to keep going carrying the weight of it.
