POP QUIZ:
What’s the most powerful word in the universe?
ANSWER:
Yes.
Some say she was the devil’s spawn; others, a saint. Did she break up the Beatles? Who knows, boys will be boys and they always seem to blame it on the girls. Right? As an artist, Yoko Ono was a hoot. In 1966 she unveiled her Ceiling Painting at the Indica Gallery of London. Viewers had to climb up a white ladder in the center of a huge room where a magnifying glass dangled from the ceiling, allowing them to peek at an itty-bitty piece of paper with the word YES written in tiny letters and framed. It is said that that unimposing YES was almost like a whisper printed on a canvas. John and Yoko met at that exhibit. He later remarked: “It’s a great relief when you get up the ladder and look through the spyglass and it doesn’t say no . . . it says YES.”
Yoko explained her take on the most powerful word in the universe saying, “There were many incredible negative elements in my life, and in the world, and because of that I had to conjure up a positive attitude within me in balance to the most chaotic . . . and I had to balance that by activating the ‘Yes’ element.”
Balance out the negative elements in your own life. Post YES all over your house. Sticky notes work well. I learned this from The Bodacious Book of Succulence: Daring to Live Your Succulent Wild Life! by Sark. Throw it on your Crazy Sexy syllabus. It will make your chakras spin.
Living in the future, resisting the past, and gunning through the present. Yuck, gross. Sound familiar? That’s a one-way ticket to shrivelville. Now let me lift the veil so you can see a glimpse of what I see in you. This is what your soul whispers even when your ears are too clogged to hear. Are you ready to witness the tip of the iceberg that is the glorious you? Are you ready for the truth? If you said yes, read on. If you said no—tough luck, scaredy-cat, read on anyway.
