One of my teachers once asked, “Out of diet, exercise, and meditation, which helps you heal the most?” I thought diet—healthy chow has always been my sun and my moon.
Then she gave us the answer: “The one you’re not doing.” Brain explosion!
I’m a layperson, an educated civilian with no special degrees from Ivy League houses. I’m not a professional in any body modalities—not in nutrition, exercise, beauty, massage, any of the myriad ways we CanSer Cowgirls and dudes can hasten our healing. What I do have, though, is experience—lots of years using and abusing and celebrating this imperfect-getting-perfect body. In this part of the book, I’ll share with you what I’ve learned along my long, long adventure, from more ways your thoughts change your health to the best stuff to put on, and in, your body. If you’re at all interested, please do your research, experiment, and find the path that works for you. And never stop exploring!
