1 We have work to get to true integration. This is quite the mix of social identities here. Marginalized groups do not have access to dominant group benefits, and it’s often unsafe to mix into unwelcomed spaces. We have a long way to go to overcome these divides that block us from the good life.

After that, we banned Reese’s Pieces; any kind of E.T. talk in our house became taboo. I even alerted his teacher about the potential for E.T. triggering in the classroom. There was no worry about such things in the 1980s. It was a free-for-all, even in the Christian movie genre.
