What is Best for Short or Long-Term Needs?

image

Take a look at the trends produced by certain stocks. How long are those trends been occurring? Maybe a stock is declining quickly like Sears or it is volatile like the Home Depot. A stock that is extremely volatile would be better suited for day-trading purposes. The Home Depot stock might be worthwhile for day-trading because that stock fluctuates daily in value.

Meanwhile, a stock that has a long-term trend could be better to hold onto. Is the stock you are interested in gradually rising in value without experiencing much resistance? Is that stock not at risk of experiencing any substantial declines in the future? If so, you might want to invest in that stock and hold onto it for the foreseeable future. It will take months or even years to realize the best profits, but it will probably be worthwhile.
