10-Q Report

image

A 10-q report is similar to a 10-k report but concentrates on the quarterly work of a business.

Let’s look at a 10-q report that the Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) listed in July 2017. This was for financial information during the quarter from April to June 2017.

Coca-Cola’s 10-q report included a series of important things:

  1. Financial statements surrounding gross profits, operating income, taxes, and various expenses

Many of the financial points highlighted in the 10-q report are identical to what a 10-k report features. This just gives a better idea of what a company has done recently.

  1. Details on any significant developments that took place in the past quarter

Coca-Cola listed on its 10-q report that it acquired a plant-based beverage company and also franchised some of its operations in China.

  1. Contracts set up with other groups

These contracts may be agreements for services and products from various groups and deals between individual people at a given time.

  1. Ongoing legal proceedings and risk factors

In most cases, you might refer back to the last 10-k form a company released. This is for cases where nothing new has happened in the market. Updates on any legal cases that are still unresolved can be included too.
