give a shout out to my beta readers, who went above and beyond to help me polish up this story. Sara, your emoji reactions and critical eye had such a great impact on both this story and my confidence in it. Harriet, your tough love helped me take note of my questionable writing habits and made me a more conscientious writer. Thank you both.
To my husband and daughters, you guys will forever by my endless source of inspiration and encouragement. I’d be nothing without you.
Lastly, with all of my books, I always choose a theme. My chapter titles always have some sort of connection that helps me to craft a story, start to finish. With a lot of my books, I’ve used music. For this one, you probably noticed The Offspring mentioned a few times. If you’re not familiar with their music, all of the chapter titles are their songs. I chose them for inspiration for this book because, as Holden mentioned, the lead singer obtained his PhD, and one of the original members is a gynecological oncologist. That similarity to my characters made them a perfect choice. So, as I always do, here’s a master list of the songs used for inspiration.
*Please note, I do not have any association with The Offspring and make no claims to their music or lyrics. I’m simply stating where I found inspiration for this story.*
