NOTE: Creative Cloud users can click the Creative Cloud icon (
) in the menu bar (Mac OS) or system tray (Windows). You can check for and install updates from the menu that appears there.
At this step of the process, Adobe InDesign CS5 or later (CS5, CS5.5, CS6 or CC) is required, along with a set of DPS Desktop Tools that consist of InDesign plug-ins and the Adobe Content Viewer for the Desktop (also called the Desktop Viewer).
These tools are already installed in CS6 and CC, but the software is updated frequently, so make sure you have the latest updates to the DPS tools. Here’s how to update the tools in InDesign CS6 and CC:
• Choose Help > Updates in InDesign CS6 or CC and install any updates related to the DPS Tools.

The DPS tools are not automatically installed in InDesign CS5 or CS5.5, so you will need to install or update them if you installed them previously. To install or update the DPS tools in CS5 or CS5.5, visit this site:

For InDesign CS5 or CS5.5 users, download and install the following for your OS:
• CS5.5/CS5 Folio Producer tools (Windows or Mac OS)
• CS5.5/CS5 Folio Builder panel (Windows or Mac OS)
Download the DPS tools for CS5/CS5.5.
