Pay Them in Order

Some payments are more important than others. For example, it’s important to keep your house, as well as to get to work so that you can earn some money. If your situation is so dire that you can’t pay all your bills, prioritize your debts and expenses and pay the most important ones first, in this order:

Talk to the creditors you can’t pay fully and let them know you intend to meet your obligations but need some time. They may be willing to give you a month or two and tack the payments on to the end of your loan, reduce your interest rate, or re-age your account so it’s not reported as delinquent to the credit bureaus.
