About the Author

Arthur Sullivan is associate professor of philosophy at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He works primarily in the philosophy of language, but has also published research in related areas of the philosophy of mind, metaphysics, epistemology, and the history of philosophy. His papers have appeared in journals such as Journal of Pragmatics, Philosophers’ Imprint, Philosophical Studies, and ‘Synthese’, and his previous books include an edited volume of work by Frege and Russell, Logicism and the Philosophy of Language (2003), and a research monograph in the theory of reference Reference and Structure: A Defense of the Russellian Orthodoxy (2013).
