ED imagines a less stressful world with plenty of breaks from school and work. Is this utopia possible?
Do you know in other countries kids take a year off before going to college? I feel like school is never going to end. Why do we have to go for so long? You know, my dad told me that his grandfather had to stop going to school in sixth grade, and he was upset about it! He cried when his father told him. That just sounds crazy to me. If I could get out of this, I would.
Yeah, I guess his grandfather probably had to go work after that. So that’s no good. I can see why you’d be upset about that. When do we get a break? Why do you have to go right from school to work? That’s no good either. We humans just don’t get a break. Why do we do this to ourselves? We create the laws, right? Can’t we maybe make a law where we work one year, then we take off the next year? We could all alternate years. I bet people would work harder if they knew that the next year they’d get off. Maybe it should be a rule that you only get the year off if you did a good job. Then no one would be a slob. And there would be no unemployment, too!
