THIS WAS A COMPLICATION he hadn’t seen coming. Why was Zoe Faust really here?

He couldn’t let her interfere with his plan.

The Museum of Parisian History was usually overshadowed by the bigger museums of Paris, but the small, private museum was in the limelight since they had been nimble enough to pull together a winning proposal for the exhibit. It was officially called L’Histoire de Notre-Dame, but everyone was calling it the Victor Hugo exhibit featuring his Lost Gargoyle of Paris illustration.

The illustration was perfect. Powerful. It captured the spirit of the cathedral.

Regardless of the added risk, he would move forward as planned.
