Sasha Fenton took an interest in astrology from an early age, and she began to give professional consultations in the early 1970s, adding palmistry and tarot to her list of accomplishments at the behest of her clients.
Fenton joined the British Astrological and Psychic Society (BAPS) in 1982 and gained certificates in astrology, palmistry, tarot and clairvoyance shortly afterward. She toured the Mind, Body and Spirit festivals with BAPS and started to write for their magazine, Mercury. Her clients urged her to write a book on the Tarot, as there was nothing suitable for a beginner. Fortune Telling by Tarot Cards was the result; it has sold over half a million copies, and Fenton has now revised and expanded it, publishing it through Hampton Roads Publishing.
Together with her close writing partner, the late Jonathan Dee, Fenton has now written over 100 books on all aspects of divination, with total sales in excess of six million copies. Apart from her writing, lecturing, appearances on television and radio shows, Fenton has also acted as secretary and president of BAPS, has been on the committee of the British Panel on Astrological Education and the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, and had a regular television spot on United Artists for five years.
