AFTERWORD

It’s time for you to review each of the ten steps of your Take-Charge program. Read through each one as listed below and think about what you want to do in order to work that step. You might find it helpful to revisit the appropriate chapters to refresh your memory. Record your observations and plans for each step in the space provided or on a separate piece of paper.

Now review your reflections and write your personal Take-Charge mission statement below or on a separate piece of paper.

MY TAKE-CHARGE PLAN

In reviewing my history, I realize that I need and want to do the following:

I understand that my needs and my plan will change over time. I commit to working on what I’ve written now, and to altering my plan as it makes sense to do so in the future.

I can take charge of my emotional life. I can overcome anxiety, distress, and depression. I will heal.

Now, make some copies of your Take-Charge plan. Post a few in prominent places, and carry one with you wherever you go. Read and work your plan daily, updating and changing it as you grow. In this way, you’ll take charge. You’ll overcome your challenges, find fulfillment, and heal! You’re amazing and deserve to be well. My hopes and prayers are with you.
