Sage makes for a tasty variation on detox cabbage soup.
Makes 4 servings.
1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup white onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 carrot, peeled and cut into matchstick strips
1 cup Savoy cabbage, shredded
6 fresh sage leaves, or 1 teaspoon dried sage
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet on medium-high heat. Add onions and garlic and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
2. Put the carrots in the slow cooker, and cover with the onion mixture. Next, add the cabbage and sage. Top with 1/2 cup water.
3. Cover the cooker and cook on Low for 4 to 5 hours or on High for 2 to 3 hours until the veggies are soft. Serve warm.
