The last week had been completely insane. Police arrested Seth’s father on multiple counts of rape, three counts of murder, embezzlement, and a bunch of other charges. He’d never get out of prison. Maui and my dad both assured me he’d suffer a great deal in prison. Apparently even inmates didn’t like pedophiles, and Mr. Luton preferred raping young teenage girls.
Someone called Specter had gotten Mrs. Luton out of town and had tucked her away somewhere safe. At least, that’s what we’d been told. I hoped she was okay. To think she’d suffered all these years. It made me sick to my stomach.
“You ready?” Maui asked, helping me from the SUV. He already had Becca, and I picked up the gift we’d brought with us.
“You think she’s even awake? I’m sure the delivery was rough on her. She was in labor for hours.”
“If she’s not, we’ll just take a peek at the babies and head out.”
We went into the hospital and up to the maternity ward. I peered into the nursery, wondering if the twins might be there. I squealed and clapped my hands when I saw them. “Aren’t they cute?”
“Yeah. Good thing they took after Solena.” I smacked him in the stomach with the back of my hand. “I bet your dad is really damn proud right now.”
“He should be. Look at them!” It reminded me of when Becca had been born. Hard to believe she’d been that small.
A hand came down on my shoulder and I looked up to see my dad gazing fondly at the twins. “She named them Constance and Ezra.”
“They’re beautiful, Daddy. And so small.”
“That they are. But they’re also damn lucky because they have two big sisters, a big brother, and an entire club to keep them safe. It’s how I wish things had been for you when you were born.”
I turned and gave him a hug. “Everything turned out fine, Daddy.”
“Solena is asleep. Otherwise, I know she’d have wanted to see you.”
I handed him the gift bag. “It’s something for the twins, but there’s also a few things in there for Solena.”
“Appreciate it, honey, and I know she will too.” He kissed my forehead. “Thank you for coming by. I think they’re sending us home either late tomorrow or the day after. She bled a little more than they were comfortable with, so they want to keep an eye on her. Just to make sure everything’s okay.”
“Let us know if you need anything.”
“I will. You take care of my sweet grandbaby, and all of you come over once we’re home. I know Solena will want to see you and show off the twins.”
Maui put his arm around my shoulders. “Maybe before too long you’ll be coming up here to see us.”
My dad narrowed his eyes at him. “Watch it, boy. That’s my little girl you’re talking about. Only way a baby is coming to your house is if the stork drops it off.”
Maui snorted and I shook my head at their antics. I let them argue a bit more while I stared at my new siblings. He wasn’t wrong, though. I might not be pregnant now, but sooner or later I would be. My husband couldn’t keep his hands off me, and I felt the same about him.
Coming to the Savage Raptors a year ago was the best thing I could have done. I’d reconnected with the father I’d never known, fallen in love, and had the family I’d always wanted. To some, my life might not seem perfect, but to me it was. I couldn’t have wished for a better father and husband than the ones I had.
Maui always said I was his world, but he was mine too.
I couldn’t wait for the trips we’d take, the holidays we’d share, and all the memories we’d make together. We had our entire lives ahead of us, and I couldn’t wait to see what the fates had in store for us. All of us.
