The following ritual takes about five minutes to complete. If you wish, you can place a crystal that corresponds with the color of each chakra (see the
Crystals
section in chapter 2) on or near each of your chakras.
Before you begin, take a quick look at the pages where you wrote the one or two issues you’ll be working with today, reminding yourself of the affirmations and emotions. Keep the pages nearby for reference if you need them during your ritual.
1.
Breathe and center.
Sit or lie quietly and comfortably with your eyes closed. Take a deep breath, in through your nose and out through your mouth, allowing any tension in your body to drain from you into the earth. Allow the earth to absorb and neutralize the tension. Take three to four slow breaths.
Now, place your hands on your heart. Notice the warmth of your hands sending energy to your heart center.
Become heart centered. To do this, think of someone you love deeply or think of something for which you are profoundly grateful. Notice the love building in your heart. Spend about one minute doing this.
2.
Visualize love and energy.
Visualize that love expanding from your heart and into the rest of your body, pumping through your blood vessels with every beat of your heart. Feel it expanding into every area of your body and out beyond your body into your energy field. Take about one minute to do this.
As the energy permeates you, visualize your root chakra, noticing where it touches the earth. See it as a glowing red wheel of light. You can chant the Bija mantra or healing vowel for that chakra (see the
Bija Mantras
section in chapter 2).
3.
Move the energy.
Move the energy upward through each chakra, beginning with the root chakra. Chant the Bija mantra or healing vowel for each chakra as you visualize the movement of the energy. Visualize the sacral chakra as an orange wheel of light, the solar plexus chakra as a yellow wheel of light, the heart chakra as a green wheel of light, the throat chakra as a blue wheel of light, the third eye chakra as a violet wheel of light, and the crown chakra as pure white light. Moving the energy through the chakras should take about one minute.
4.
Affirm and visualize healing.
Turn to your issues. Repeat your affirmations for each issue and then visualize yourself with those issues resolved, making this look and feel as real as possible. Allow yourself to feel the emotions you’ve indicated you’ll feel, because your issue has been resolved. Do this for about a minute and half to two minutes.
5.
Anchor and return to your body.
Now, with all of these wonderful feelings running through your body, create your anchor gesture and hold it until the positive feelings begin to subside.
When you’re ready, stop the gesture and come back into your body. Open your eyes and go about your day.
