AUTOIMMUNE DISORDERS
TECHNIQUES: AFFIRMATIONS, CRYSTALS, VISUALIZATION
Around 23 million Americans suffer from one of 80 to 100 different types of autoimmune diseases. In energy healing for autoimmune diseases, you’ll need to focus on three things: the root and crown chakras and the chakra closest to where the condition affects you. For example, I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which is related to my throat chakra. Someone with type 1 diabetes would focus on the solar plexus region, and someone with a systemic condition (such as a skin condition, rheumatoid arthritis, or lupus) would focus on the crown and third eye chakras.
Immune-Strengthening Affirmation
During your daily meditation, repeat this simple affirmation for five minutes: “I am vibrantly healthy and happy, and my immune system functions perfectly.”
Tourmaline, Quartz, and Chakra Crystal Elixir
For this elixir, use a piece of freshly cleansed black tourmaline, clear quartz, and the crystal for the chakra closest to your most prevalent symptom. For example, if you have Grave’s disease, a thyroid disorder, use a blue stone such as celestite. When making elixirs, be mindful not to put the crystals in the water or allow the water to come into contact with them because some crystals will release toxic elements into the water.
1 . Place the freshly cleansed crystals in a small, clean, sealed jar.
2 . Pour 1 cup of water into a bowl and place the sealed jar inside. Leave it in for 24 hours.
3 . Remove the jar from the bowl and set it aside. Pour the water from the bowl into a bottle.
Bath: Add 2 tablespoons of the elixir to your bathwater along with ¼ cup of Epsom salt and 10 drops of lavender essential oil. Soak for 10 to 15 minutes each day.
Self-care: Add 5 drops of the elixir to your beauty products, such as your lotion or shampoo.
Chakra Clearing for Immune Balance
Gather the seven crystals or their substitutions recommended in chapter 2 here and go to a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Then do the following:
1 . Lie comfortably. Place your freshly cleansed crystals on the area of each chakra as follows:
BLACK TOURMALINE—ROOT CHAKRA
CARNELIAN—SACRAL CHAKRA
CITRINE—SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA
ROSE QUARTZ—HEART CHAKRA
CELESTITE—THROAT CHAKRA
AMETHYST—THIRD EYE CHAKRA
CLEAR QUARTZ—CROWN CHAKRA
2 . Breathe deeply, in through your nose and out through your mouth.
3 . Visualize energy coming through the clear quartz into your crown chakra. Now visualize the energy traveling from crystal to crystal through each of your chakras, feeling the energy of the crystals balancing each chakra as it moves through.
4 . Once you’ve reached your root chakra, visualize the energy running up and down through the chakras from crystal to crystal and moving freely. While doing so, repeat the mantra, “My immune system is healthy, balanced, and strong.” When you’re ready, open your eyes.
“I Am the Light” Meditation
This meditation, which takes about 15 minutes, is designed to help bring energy and light to every area of your body, which can be extremely helpful with autoimmune conditions. You can use this transcript or listen to it in on my website. (See the Resources section.)
1 . Sit or lie comfortably. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, in through your nose and out through your mouth.
2 . As you focus on your breathing, notice that the air you are breathing is light. Visualize breathing golden or white light deeply, in through your nose and out through your mouth.
3 . As you breathe in the light, see it traveling through your nasal passages and into your lungs, filling your lungs and chest with light.
4 . Now, move your focus to your crown chakra, just above the top of your head. Notice your crown chakra open, and feel white light pouring in through your crown chakra, swirling down through your third eye chakra, and filling your entire head. If you were to open your eyes or mouth right now, light would stream from them and fill the space around you. Visualize looking at and listening to the world through your new eyes and ears of light, and notice how everything you see and hear is light forming the sights, colors, shapes, and sounds you recognize in your everyday life.
5 . See yourself opening your mouth and light streaming out. Know that as you speak, everything you say is of the light and filled with light. Everything you place in your mouth—everything you drink, chew, and swallow—is light that nourishes and fills your entire body.
6 . As the light fills and streams from your head in all directions, notice that now it is flowing downward, filling your throat and passing easily through your throat chakra. Light fills your vocal chords and carries on your voice as you speak, as you sing, as you sigh.
7 . The light continues downward now, traveling into your shoulders. Notice the light stream down both arms, through your elbows, into your forearms, then into your hand and fingers. The light streams from your hands and fingers. With every movement of your upper extremities, you emit light; it flows gracefully and easily, filling the space around you. As you lift your hands, as you touch objects around you, not only are you emitting light, but everything you touch, everything you feel, and everything you tap or stroke is light, as well.
8 . Return your attention to your shoulders and notice the light stream down through your shoulders into your chest and upper back. The light flows into your heart and fills it. Now, as your heart beats, it pushes the light through every blood vessel in your body. The light is circulating through your veins now.
9 . Notice as the light moves downward from your heart, flowing easily through your heart chakra and into your rib cage, down through your solar plexus chakra and into your abdomen. It fills your abdominal cavity, moving easily through your solar plexus chakra and through your sacral chakra, filling your entire torso and expanding down to and through your root chakra.
10 . Notice the light move into your buttocks, hips, and thighs now, moving easily down through your knees, into your lower legs, ankles, feet, and toes. It streams from the bottom of your feet into the earth and out from your toes into the universe. Every cell of your body is light now; it gives light and receives light.
11 . Become aware of your environment: the sounds, the smells, the feel of whatever you are sitting or lying on. Notice that these, too, are light. As you move, you are light, moving through light, breathing light, touching light, being light.
12 . When you are ready, return your attention to your breathing. Notice that as you breathe in and out, the light flows freely to you, from you, and through you. When you are ready, open your eyes and walk in the world as light.
