HEALTH
TECHNIQUES: CRYSTALS, MEDITATION, SOUND HEALING
Frequently, physical health issues are the first signs you recognize when energetic imbalances and dis-ease arise. They usually begin as a mild symptom, but as the imbalance magnifies, the symptoms become stronger and more persistent. Attending to your physical health, however, involves more than treating physical symptoms. The remedies in this section look beyond the physical to help remove the causes of the imbalance.
Sit with Symptoms
Sitting with symptoms allows you to hear what your body is trying to tell you.
Sit or lie quietly and comfortably, and ask yourself, “What is it I need to know?” For the next 10 minutes, quietly observe and see what arises in your body, mind, or spirit. For example, as you focus on your symptoms, anger at someone may arise. When something such as an emotion or fear comes up as you sit with symptoms, this is often the root cause. Noticing this will help you identify what is unbalanced and causing your symptoms or dis-ease, which allows you to do something about it.
Clear Quartz Health Elixir
Clear quartz is a universal crystal that helps with every issue. Be mindful that quartz-based crystals are nontoxic as long as they are cleansed; but, as a general rule, when making elixirs, do not put the crystals in the water or allow the water to come into contact with them because some crystals will release toxic elements into the water.
1 . Place a freshly cleansed clear quartz crystal in a small, clean, sealed jar.
2 . Pour 1 cup of water into a bowl and place the sealed jar inside. Leave it in for 48 hours.
3 . Remove the jar from the bowl and set it aside. Pour the water from the bowl into a bottle.
Drink: Add 1 tablespoon of the elixir to your morning water, juice, or smoothie.
Full-Body Sound Healing
This remedy is simple and quick and uses the healing vowel sounds associated with the chakras (see the Vowels section of chapter 2 and the Healing Vowels chart). You don’t need to know particular notes; you’ll just slide up and down in pitch as you vocalize the vowel sounds. This practice should take just a few minutes.
1 . Do the following in a single breath: Start with the root chakra vowel sound, vocalizing it in the lowest tone your voice can manage. Moving to the next chakra and vowel sound, vocalize the sound in a slightly higher tone. Do this for each chakra up to your crown chakra, vocalizing the vowels in ascending tones. The crown chakra should be the highest tone your voice can manage.
2 . Breathe, and then in a single breath, head back down in pitch, vocalizing the vowels in descending tones until you return to the root chakra.
3 . Perform a total of eight ascents and eight descents.
