Maureen Lee was born in Bootle near Liverpool where her novels are set. She has been married to a lovely chap called Richard for an incredibly long time and they have three very grown-up sons. She has written twenty novels, seventeen of them sagas. In 2000, Dancing in the Dark won the RNA Romantic Novel of the Year Award; she has been shortlisted and longlisted for two other books. For the record, Maureen hates housework, is obsessed with anything to do with politics, loves shopping for clothes and lunching with friends.
