When it comes to thanking all the people who made this story possible, I’m reminded of the final scene from The Muppet Christmas Carol. A tight shot focuses on Tiny Tim (played by Kermit’s nephew, Robin) joyous over the roast goose. Then widens to show a changed Scrooge, then to the entire Cratchit family and the other guests at the table as they lift a toast. Out the camera pans, past the people peering in at the windows, past the people dancing in the square and filling the streets, until it lifts and soars over the roofs and chimney pots of London to the sky.
That is how my appreciation soars, from those who worked closest on the book, Kristin Sevick, Patrick Canfield, Libby Collins, and the amazing cover artist, Andrew Davidson; to my agent, Kevan Lyon; to my entire Forge team. And finally to those of you who receive it with kindness miles and miles away.
I thank you all.
