Piri-piri peppers are found in well-stocked supermarkets and spice shops. Dried cayenne or piquin peppers are acceptable substitutes. Piri-piri sauce is excellent over chicken and steak.
1⁄4 cup crushed dried piri-piri peppers
3 cloves garlic, minced
1⁄4 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1-inch knob fresh ginger, grated
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
