Note to the Reader:
Thank you for reading Whispering Tower! I hope you enjoyed it. While I had fun imagining ways for Skye and Philip to run for their lives, I felt it would be helpful to mention the Biblical account of the Tower of Babel, for accuracy’s sake. For the most part, all aspects of Whispering Tower are products of my imagination. However, we know based on the Bible that the tower was a real place built in the days of Nimrod.
Nimrod was the great grandson of Noah, and he was the ruler of a kingdom that included Babel in the land of Shinar (Sumer). Scholars haven’t been able to agree on what they believe regarding Nimrod. Was he a good guy or a bad one? The Bible only says he was “a mighty one in the earth,” and “a mighty hunter before God,” but there are other historical accounts of him that paint him in various lights—some good and some not-so-good.
In Whispering Tower, I chose to make the fictional characters Saul and Lilla the masterminds behind the building of the tower. This was so that I could make my fictional story consistent, as well as allow myself the freedom to take the story in whatever direction it needed to go. If you’re curious about the more factual aspects of the Tower of Babel and Nimrod, I encourage you to do a study on the subject. Diving into history, via the Word of God, is always a fascinating thing!
Happy studying!
