February 2022 came, and Christina and Nikita published their first book together, the Last Caribs of Sent Lisi, and were authoring another book about the orishas, the spirits, and the ancestors. Christina got a scholarship for a Ph.D. in History at a university in Wales. Althea got a new position at a university in New Zealand. Danny decided to take a sabbatical break to go to Haiti to help with the medical needs on that island, but before this, everyone was going to get ready for Nikita’s and Aimee’s wedding. Well, blessing ceremony because gay marriage is not legal here in Saint. Lucia.
Nikita was moving to Canada because she got a position to teach and do research at a university in Montreal. The wedding was taking place at Marisule beach late at 6 pm,
Nikita was wearing a blue and white sundress with blue slippers, and Aimee was wearing a yellow sundress and decided she wanted to wear no shoes to feel the sand under her feet.
Nikita looked in the mirror while Aimee was coming to ask her if she was ready and asked her future wife, “Are you happy?”
Aimee stared at the mirror; she could never get used to this. She was always afraid that rotting flesh would come back said, “Yes, I am! Now let us get married.”
Danny and Christina came into the apartment looking for their friends. Danny wore a white dress, and Christina wore a pink pants suit. They came into the room and asked in together. “Are the two of you ready?”
And Aimee and Nikita looked at each other, smiled, and said,” yes, we are.”
They went to Marisule beach, were Althea, who was wearing a blue and white lace beach dress. Althea also prepared everything for the wedding. Even Francis, the obeah man, cleaned up nicely, and he no longer smelled like the bush. There was lots of food there. Adamma (Mama Dlo) got herself human legs and was in a silver and white dress, and Papa Bwa also cleaned up very nicely and disguised himself with human legs.
Althea walked Nikita down the beach aisle that was made for that evening and a priestess of Oshun and a Catholic priest friend from university who had respect for the African retention religions and believes everyone should be with who they love presided over the wedding. The priest knew it was clear he may be excommunicated. The wedding blessed by the gods, the spirits, and the ancestors were just the beginning. Nikita and Aimee, soon after the wedding, left for Canada and later to New Zealand to take care of Nikita’s aunt Althea. They lived there for many years until they both died of old age and entered Oya’s realm.
Lorraine went mad and was sent to the Psychologic Clinic and she died there and went to Hell. No one knows what happened to Lorraine’s followers
But take this story as a lesson. Do not believe the folktales about the Ladjablès. She is not evil, even when her story is told. Her only evil acts are to lure abusive and cheating men to their deaths. The Ladjablès, all of them only made deals with Lucifer to protect themselves. And that love can conquer all.!
The End
