They said their vows two weeks later on a balmy summer evening in Abby’s backyard garden. Felicity was dressed in a white satin A-line gown with beaded Venice lace and delicate cap sleeves gracing the top of the shoulders. Her only attendant was Abby, dressed in a peach Georgette flutter sleeve A-line with a chiffon ruched empire waist.
David had pressed for the date, saying he didn’t want Felicity to have a chance to back out, but she knew there was no chance of that happening. She was more than happy to comply. She didn’t want him to change his mind, either. Deep down, she felt they both knew that wasn’t going to happen. The Lord had brought them together…in spite of their blundering along the way.
As David took her in his arms and they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, Felicity thanked the Lord above for leaving her no doubt about how this man felt about her. And she was pretty sure the Lord approved of their impatience this time…after all, it’d taken them long enough to figure out His plans.
When the time came to throw her bouquet, she was thankful there was no fan to tear it apart. It sailed through the air the way it was meant to…a beautiful bouquet of white roses, gardenias, and lily of the valley made by…Felicity, of course.
