A Note on Sources
Almost all the letters, most of the radio scripts and a number of the newspaper clippings, pamphlets, brochures and unpublished manuscripts the author consulted or cited can be found in in the Lowell Thomas Papers at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Indexes to these materials, and access to those that have been digitalized, are available online at: http://library.marist.edu/archives/LTP/LTP.xml.
The author has also made considerable use of the Fred Crawford papers at Marist College: http://library.marist.edu/archives/crawfordPapers/FredCrawfordPapers.xml. Crawford, who was working on his own biography of Lowell Thomas when he died, organized some of the material in the Thomas Papers and added his own interviews and correspondence with many who had known Thomas.
