Tanya Aguiñiga creates works of art that function as pieces of furniture. The designer, born in Tijuana, Mexico, holds a master’s degree in furniture design from the Rhode Island School of Design and is currently part of the teaching staff at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Her work has been exhibited in Mexico City and Milan, and she was nominated to be a United States Artists Target Fellow in crafts and traditional art.

The design of CB2 chairs is somewhere between sculpture and furniture and was inspired by the organic shapes of nature and the animal world. With their different shapes and upholstery, no two CB2s are the same.

The Paper Clip Chairs collection has a tubular structure, alluding to the shape and ductility of a paperclip.

The design uses different fabrics and surfaces, depending on the chair’s intended function.
