Merel Karhof was born in the Nether-lands in 1978. She traveled around Europe from an early age and lived in different places for relatively long periods, soaking up culture. Karhof studied design at the Eindhoven Design Academy, then founded Collective Circus Design with some of her colleagues after finishing her studies. Her designs combine art, science, and craft.
