Benjamin Pawle studied at the Glasgow School of Art, where he discovered a passion for product design. Pawle has worked on personal projects that highlight his interest in helping people on an emotional level, and for large design companies in Glasgow and Barcelona. He currently works in Designit’s London offices.
Transformation Game is a game for children with hemiplegia. It promotes the development of motor skills, such as buttoning. The smooth differently colored thick felt pieces can be folded and are connected with buttons.
This game consists of a robot costume for children to practice buttoning and unbuttoning clothing while having fun.
Home Grown is a remote-control irrigation system. Two plant pots containing the same species of plant are used to monitor soil moisture; when one pot is watered, the irrigator for the next pot starts and waters the other plant.
The One Handed Condom is a condom wrapper designed for people with restricted motor function in the upper limbs. It can be opened with one hand with a simple finger movement.
The Noise Box records background noise made by the inhabitants of the house. This soundtrack can be played back to reduce the feeling of loneliness when no one else is in.
