Inspired by Lisbon’s magical light, Marco Sousa Santos designs novel household products and accessories. His creations are the result of an exhaustive search for materials with good structural qualities and aesthetics that make them suitable for beautiful, practical, functional, long-lasting products. Sousa has worked in various design fields. He is a lecturer in industrial design in Lisbon, and he established his own studio in 1995.
Using very little material, the Skin Chair is minimalist in both form and concept. The back and the rear legs are a single piece, making the chair stronger.
The lacquered water-resistant Paper Chair can be used in interior and exterior spaces. Its structure suggests a sheet of paper that acquires strength when folded.
WR.03 is a simple chair of lightweight construction, with an ergonomic structure that helps to correct posture. It is made of birch plywood.
The Shell Chair’s form was inspired by biology and the human body. Its ergonomic structure mimics the vertebrae; cushions can be inserted.
