Editor’s Notes and Acknowledgements
In 2002, the hardcover version of this volume completed the NESFA Press project to bring the SF works of Fredric Brown back into print.
Scanning was provided by Rick Katze and Judy Bemis. Proofreading help was provided by Mark Olson, Vincent Docherty, Art and Becky Henderson, and Seth Breidbart. Final proofreading was by George Flynn.
Typesetting of the original hardcover was done by Mark and Priscilla Olson, who made the book get out on time. In preparation for this ebook, the material was re-typeset by David G. Grubbs. Proofreading of the re-typeset edition used to create this e-book was provided by Jim Mann, Robert Luoma, Don Doughty, Wes Brodsky, and Rick Katze.
As with the short works contained in From These Ashes, the novels in this volume appear in order of first publication. The two novelettes incorporated and rewritten for Rogue in Space appear after the novels.
The cover painting was done by Bob Eggleton. When the Brown project began, Bob told the editors what he wanted to do and then proceeded to pull it off. The book jacket was designed by Geri Sullivan.
Thanks to everyone who made this book, and the Fredric Brown project, possible.
