“Codes of Courage: An Heirs of Falcon Point Historical Novel was wonderful. This novel is a fictional presentation of a difficult time in our history. Each one of the characters comes from a very different background, yet over the course of the novel, they face the same terrors, heartbreaks, and fear that in the end, bring them all together in a surprising conclusion. There is some truth mingled into the fiction done with great skill by A. L. Sowards. I believe that Codes of Courage could be a blockbuster movie and would love to see this happen. I urge you to read this novel if you are a fan of historical, epic, or dramatic tales. Codes of Courage is a sure winner and should be placed high on your reading list.”

“Sowards has a gift when it comes to bringing to life historical events, but the way she crafts her characters is also pure beauty. Her scenes and prose are commanding, and I felt so much reading this book. I absolutely loved Karl and Millie. Their romance was so fitting and representative of the time but so unique and truly a love story for the ages. The sacrifice of individuals during this war and the cost to their families is truly amazing, and I hope the world never loses or forgets its gratitude. I admit to needing a full box of tissues with this one. Through the heartache and tears, there was so much hope, joy, and mercy. I could not have asked for a better epilogue for the ending.
“This book can be read before Heirs of Falcon Point or after; either way, I fully recommend them and encourage WWII fiction fans to not miss this novel. It is hands down one of the best books I have ever been privileged to read in the genre. All the stars and all the praise for Codes of Courage.”

“A. L. Sowards has created an un-put-downable literary masterpiece of life’s risks and rewards in a time of war—through well-known and lesser-known events and situations in history. Her characters tell a brave tale of risking it all through love/war, enemies/comrades, and fear/hope as they look to the future through their unwavering and unyielding convictions to do what is right. With three points of view, including a look through an “enemy” radio operator and coder’s eyes, readers will experience an immersive historical experience unlike any other.”

“The author does an excellent job of telling the story within the setting of WWII. It feels authentic, and the attention to detail reveals that quite a bit of research took place before the writing process started. The descriptions of the different machines, procedures, and events are meticulously done.”

“Sowards’ well-researched novel is filled with historical details about the Czechoslovakian Legion, a group supporting the Allies in their battle against Germany. The hardships these men faced fighting to win independence for Czechoslovakia are brought to life with realistic descriptions. The author also doesn’t shy away from the difficulties confronting single or unprotected women during the war, heightening the stakes for the novel’s female characters. Nadia and Filip’s romance creates a bright spot and sense of hope, keeping the reader truly invested until the end.”
