Steps

Prior to cooking, let the steak rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.

A 3.5-quart air fryer should be preheated to 400 degrees F. 

Apply salt and pepper to both sides of the steak before cooking. For medium-rare, medium, and medium-well doneness, lay the steak in the middle of the air fryer basket and cook for about 10 minutes, 12 minutes, and 14 minutes, respectively. 

Place the steak on a chopping board and let it rest for about 10 minutes.

In the meantime, blend the butter, parsley, chives, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Cut the steak into 1/4-inch-thick slices by cutting it against the grain. Butter flavored with garlic and herbs can be used as a topping.
